B4SI Launches Working Group on Natural Capital Indicators

B4SI is excited to announce the launch of a new working group dedicated to the development of Natural Capital Indicators, set to commence in March 2025. This initiative aims to enhance the impact management capabilities of the B4SI Framework.

Developing Impact Indicators

The working group will bring together B4SI members from various sectors and geographies to develop a set of indicators for the B4SI Impact Framework, incorporating nature-related activities. This project will explore the intersection of environmental and social factors in initiatives that extend beyond the scope of traditional community and social impact. It will also draw upon various relevant frameworks and standards to ensure interoperability while strengthening the value and relevance of the B4SI Framework. The development of these indicators will be managed by B4SI, leveraging the collective expertise of its membership of over 160 companies. This collaborative effort ensures that the additional work is developed by practitioners, for practitioners, making it highly relevant and actionable.

Enhanced Measurement Capabilities

The introduction of natural capital indicators will empower B4SI members to accurately measure the impact of their social activities on both people and natural capital. Embedding new metrics into the B4SI Framework and impact toolkit expands practitioners’ ability to assess and report on social and environmental sustainability, aligning with evolving industry needs and trends. This advancement will provide a more holistic understanding of the benefits generated, ensuring that both human well-being and ecological health are considered in project work.

Engagement and Participation

B4SI members have received detailed information on registering their interest in participating in the working groups, including an overview of the group’s objectives and key dates. Members are encouraged to reach out to their account managers with any questions or to get involved.

Stay tuned for further updates following the conclusion of the working group meetings in June.
