The Role of the Steering Group
Steering Groups are a central pillar of B4SI’s governance model. Made up of senior practitioners from across our membership, they act on behalf of the wider network to safeguard and strengthen the relevance, integrity and quality of the B4SI frameworks.
Operating in a strategic advisory and governance capacity, Steering Group members provide direction on:
- Framework development
- Member services
- Thought leadership
- External positioning; and
- Network priorities
They also support the sustainable growth of B4SI through the sharing of insight, expertise and professional networks.
At a time when social factors are increasingly recognised as material business risks and opportunities, the role of a practitioner‑led, independently governed standard is more important than ever. Through B4SI’s collaborations and alliances with organisations such as the World Economic Forum, TISFD and WBCSD, insights from our Steering Groups directly inform how social impact is understood, measured and embedded in business decision‑making globally.
Steering Group members also act as advocates and ambassadors for B4SI—supporting alignment between regional priorities and global strategy, and championing the use of B4SI frameworks within their organisations and beyond.
We would like to warmly welcome the new Steering Group members as they begin their terms. Their leadership, experience and commitment will be instrumental as B4SI continues to evolve.
