B4SI Call for Evidence: Business Innovation
What does it look like when businesses tackle social challenges in ways that creates shared value and breaks new ground?
Building on B4SI’s existing Business Innovation for Social Impact guidance, we’re inviting B4SI members and non-members to share evidence of innovative approaches that create both business value and measurable social impact.
We’re looking for examples that go beyond business-as-usual to create a dual social and commercial return:
• Innovative products or services
• New operational approaches or business models
• Innovative investment approaches for impact
• Solutions that address social issues in ways that are not yet standard practice within your sector
B4SI’s existing guidance provides a practical framework for understanding how business innovation can be used as a lever for social impact. As the landscape continues to evolve, we want to build on that foundation by capturing emerging examples of businesses pushing beyond established norms, testing new approaches and demonstrating what effective innovation for social impact looks like in practice.
The case studies collected through this call for evidence will strengthen and inform the continued development of B4SI’s guidance, working in collaboration with B4SI Members in 2027.
The guidance will help businesses:
• Understand emerging approaches and leading practices
• Strengthen the business case for innovation with social impact outcomes
• Learn from real-world examples across sectors and geographies
• Identify practical ways to embed social impact into innovation strategies and investment decisions
We’re particularly interested in submissions that can demonstrate:
• The social issue being addressed
• The innovation introduced
• The business benefits achieved (or intended)
• The social impacts delivered (or expected)
Whether you’re a B4SI member or not, we’re keen to hear from businesses that are challenging conventional thinking and creating value for both society and business.
Submissions open September-December 2026 followed by opportunities for deeper B4SI Member engagement throughout 2027.
How to submit:
• B4SI Members: Email your B4SI Account Manager
• Non-members: Contact mail@b4si.net with the subject ‘Business Innovation’
