#WFH……are you MAD?

I have never liked working from home.

I like a separation between home life and work life. Whenever I worked from home I did it reluctantly. I always thought the people that did it were a bit mad.  When I tried to use various tech it was glitchy. Many times I would have to wait until I was back in the office to complete important pieces of work.

With WFH being enforced, I along with the vast majority of the world has had to adapt.  Charles Darwin said,  ‘It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.’

So how have we adapted our approach?

I am the Membership Manager for the London Benchmarking Group (LBG). We represent a group of nearly 200 companies globally. They are making a difference as they create social and environmental impact through business activities.

So, a dilemma.

What do you do to connect businesses together if they can’t meet face to face?

Answer: if we can’t bring our members to us we open a virtual space. Here they can learn from each other, share best practice and truly network by making the internet and our network work for them.  Having held five webinars for our members, we’ve seen a common theme around the need to connect. We will have a deep dive into the 3 areas of concern our members want to explore:

    • Employee wellbeing & Volunteering;
    • Relaxing funding criteria during the crisis & potential implications;
    • Coordinating a collective response from LBG Members.

I understand the pressure that all companies are under right now. I get the effect the coronavirus is having on social impact programs.  LBG believes companies have an opportunity to create unique value for their communities by delivering impact and creating business benefits simultaneously. If you would like to join us let me know.

Be one of many who are #WFH and MAD.

Working from home and making a difference.
